UMW Women's Cross Country Places 11th at Conn. College; Men Place 13th

The University of Mary Washington cross country teams competed at the Connecticut College Invitational on Saturday. The women finished 11th among 32 schools, while the men placed 13th.

For the Eagle women, junior Lauren Braney finished 26th overall at 22:59, followed by Tara Landy in 45th place at 23:34. Liz Green placed 71st at 24:11, just ahead of teammates Trinity Smyth (72nd; 24:11) and Colleen Boyle (73rd; 24:12).

The men were led by Julian Menk in 28th place at 26:24, Nick Eghtessad in 44th place at 26:41, Jeff Branson in 86th at 27:27, Corey Lyons in 91st at 27:32, and Ian Granger in 95th at 27:35.

"Good trip. Good experience for us", said head coach Stan Soper. "And with CACs coming up in a few weeks, a good experience."

The Eagles will be off next weekend before travelling to Salisbury, Md. for the CAC Championships at 11:00 a.m.
