UMW Cross Country Teams Compete at NCAA South/Southeast Regionals

The University of Mary Washington women's cross country team finished in eighth place and the men's team took ninth at the NCAA Division III South/Southeast Region Championships in Seguin, Texas on Saturday. Junior Sean Healy gained all-region honors by placing 22nd on the men's side.

For the women, sophomore Erin Dandridge was UMW's top finisher, placing 46th overall at 24:52. Sophomore Liz Green took 59th overall at 25:08, senior Michaela Sands was 69th at  25:25, and freshman Tara Landy was72nd at 25:29. Freshman Hannah Somers rounded out the Eagles' top five by placing 76th at 25:35.

The Eagle men saw Healy finish 22nd at 27:18, and senior Kyle Anderson finish 46th at 28:00. Senior Chris Marino took 58th at 28:22, while Stephen Harrison finished 63rd at 28:27, just ahead of senior Blake Turner, who took 64th just a fraction of a  second behind.
