UMW Men's, Women's Cross Country Finish 2nd at CAC Championships

The University of Mary Washington men's and women's cross country teams finished in second place at the Capital Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday in York, Pa. The men took second behind first place York, while the women finished second behind champion Salisbury.

The women saw sophomore Liz Green finish first overall with a time of 25:57. Freshman Hannah Somers took seventh overall at 26:50, followed by Jennifer Moore in 11th place at 27:04, Ashley Hess in 17th at 27:25, and Michaela Sands in 21st place at 27:31. Senior Dawn Rainbolt was 22nd at 27:38, and Erin Dandridge 23rd at 27:43. UMW finished second with 57 points, nine behind first place Salisbury (48) and one point ahead of third place York.

The men saw Daniel Ache place fifth overall at 29:05, followed by Sean Healy eighth at 29:25; Stephen Harrison ninth at 29:35; and Kyle Anderson 10th at 29:54. Chris Marino was 14th at 30:07. and Julian Menk 15th at 30:13. Blake Turner was 20th at 30:25. UMW finished second with 46 points, 20 behind champion York and 20 ahead of third place Salisbury,

Both teams will return to action in two weeks at the NCAA Regional championships in Seguin, Texas.
