YORK, Pa. -- Mary Washington junior CHRIS MARINO (Portland, Conn./Portland) and freshman LIZ GREEN (Viera, Fla./Viera) were selected as the CAC Cross Country Athletes of the Week for Sept. 14, 2010.


MEN’S CROSS COUNTRY
Mary Washington junior CHRIS MARINO (Portland, Conn./Portland) was selected as the final CAC Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week after leading the Eagles at the McDaniel Green Terror Invitational. Marino finished first overall in the 3K race in 9:43, then placed fifth overall, behind two UMW teammates, in the 5K chase (16:51). Marino helped the Eagles win both team championships.


WOMEN’S CROSS COUNTRY
Mary Washington freshman LIZ GREEN (Viera, Fla./Viera) was tabbed as the CAC Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week after being the first CAC finisher in her first two collegiate races (on the same day) in the McDaniel Green Terror Invitational. Green placed fourth overall in the 5K race in 20:39, then took fourth in the 3K race in 11:55.
