UMW Cross Country Teams Compete at Paul Short Invitational
The University of Mary Washington men's and women's cross country teams competed in Friday's Paul Short Invitational in Lehigh, Pa. The men took first place in the white division with 116 points, while the women placed eighth overall.

For the men, Jason Driscoll (Haymarket, Va., Battlefield) finished fourth overall with a time of 25:50, while Jake Pattyson (Winchester, Va., James Wood) placed 19th overall at 26:40. Brian Fulton (Pawling, N.Y., Pawling) was 26th at 26:47, David Gayek (Leesburg, Va., Loudoun County) finished 33rd at 27:01, and Chris Marino (Portland, Conn., Portland) took 34th at 27:02.

The women saw Kristy Witek (Fairfax, Va., Chantilly) finish in 13th place at 23:15 to lead the Eagles. Michaela Sands (Burke, Va., Lake Braddock) finished 43rd at 24:19, Sara Dawes (Chesapeake Beach, Md., Huntingtown) took 44th place at 24:19, Mara Cate (Alexandria, Va., West Potomac) placed 56th at 24:29, and Madelyn Crowell (Danville, Va., Chatham) finished 104th at 25:23.

The Eagles will next compete in the Carnegie Mellon University Invitational next Saturday.
