2004 University of Mary Washington Men's Cross Country Season in Review

The men's cross country team won the Capital Athletic Conference championship in 2004, inspired by a dramatic 1-2-3 individual finish at the conference race. Seniors Todd Kronenberg, the CAC Runner of the Year, and Matt Kirk, along with CAC Rookie of the Year Justin Kirk sparked the Eagles to a pair of wins on the season, including the Division One George Washington University Invitational and CACs.

Jake Rod, Doug Axelrod, and Jason Call joined Kirk, Kirk, and Kronenberg on the All-CAC squad. Due to injuries, Kronenberg and Rod were unable to compete at the NCAA regional, in which UMW still managed to finish third. Matt Kirk and Justin Kirk earned all-region honors for their efforts at the regional championships in Atlanta.
