2000 Mary Washington College Women's Cross Country Season in Review

Traditionally one of the most successful teams at Mary Washington College, the women's cross country team again excelled in 2000. Led by seven all-conference runners, the Eagle women won three races in 2000, including the Virginia State Championship, the Mason-Dixon Championship, and the Capital Athleic Conference
Championship.
With two seniors on the roster, the 2000 squad also placed second at the Western Maryland Invitational and the Frostburg Invitational. Sophomore Jessica Edberg proved to be MWC's top runner, placing in the top ten in five of the seven races she competed in. Junior Dana Folta and CAC Rookie of the Year Maggie Marriott return for 2001 after posting all-conference honors a year ago. They will be joined by top performers Rebecca Griffith, Caitlin Kinkead, Kathleen Toone, and Erin Williams.

With numerous returning runners for 2001, Mary Washington looks to continue its dominance at the conference and state level, and claim the regional title and advance to the NCAA Championships.
