1999 Mary Washington College Men's Cross Country Season in Review

The Eagle men finished the 1999 campaign in impressive fashion. Early season injuries hindered the harriers in the early part of the season, but a second place finish at the George Mason Invitational in mid-October served notice that the team would finish the season running strong, posting a 73-17 record.

At the CAC Championships, the team's depth showed as the Eagles placed eight runners on the All-CAC squad, led by sophomore Travis Jones, who placed second, and senior Jason Van Horn, who took third. Other Eagles who ran to all-conference finishes were Marty Martonik, John Rock, Brien Roberts, Marc Jones, Adam
Giammarinaro, and Brian Walsh.

The team finished the season with an impressive performance at the NCAA Regionals, finishing in second place. It was the team's. highest regional finish since 1994. The men lose four seniors to graduation, but hope to remain a conference contender with a mixture of both veterans and newcomers.
