#22 UMW Volleyball Closes Regular Season with 3-0 Wins Over Susquehanna, Averett

The 22nd ranked University of Mary Washington volleyball team closed the regular season with a pair of 3-0 victories, over Susquehanna University and Averett University, on Saturday at Ron Rosner Arena. The Eagles improve to 27-3, their most regular season wins since 1992.

The Eagles opened the day with a 25-18, 25-20, 25-21 victory over Susquehanna. The Eagles hit a blistering .316 for the match, including .433 in the first game.

Senior Caitlyn Burch led the Eagles with 10 kills against two errors in 17 attempts, while senior Bryanna Miller scored eight kills against one error in 188 attempts, and added 12 digs. The triumvirate of Jordan Lyons, Chloe Crosen, and Emma Hadley each added seven kills.

Junior Lauren Foley posted 19 assists and junior Brenna Campbell added 17, and junior Hannah Livermon posted six service aces, while Miller and Campbell each added four.

In the nightcap for senior night, the Eagles overcame a shaky start for a 25-20, 25-13, 25-19 win over Averett. The Eagles were again on point, hitting .240 as a team.

Miller led the way with 11 kills, while Lyons added nine. Campbell had 18 assists and Foley 17, and Lyons led with 15 digs.

The Eagles will now advance to next weekend's Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Tournament, held at Salisbury University. Match times and matchups will be announced on Monday.
