#22 UMW Volleyball Sweeps St. Lawrence, Va. Wesleyan to Improve to 19-1

Playing in its first home match in a month, the 22nd ranked University of Mary Washington volleyball team gained a pair of 3-0 victories on Saturday at Ron Rosner Arena, over St. Lawrence University and Virginia Wesleyan University. The Eagles run their win streak to seven straight, and improve to 19-1 on the season.

The Eagles opened the trimatch by toppling St. Lawrence, 25-13, 25-14, 25-10. The balanced attack saw senior Jordan Lyons, junior Chloe Crosen, and junior Emma Hadley each scoring seven kills, as UMW hit .333 for the match as a team. Lauren Foley led with 16 assists, with Brenna Campbell adding 13, and Hannah Livermon added 15 digs, five assists, and four aces. 

In the afternoon matchup against Va. Wesleyan, the Eagles gained a 25-17. 25-17, 25-18 victory. Crosen led the way with 10 kills in 14 attempts, again without an error, and Lyons scored nine kills to go with a team-high 21 digs. Bryanna Miller added eight kills and eight digs, and Caitlyn Burch added six kills, including a pair down the stretch in the tight deciding game. Foley scored 24 assists and Campbell 15, and Livermon added 18 digs.

The Eagles will be back in action on Wednesday evening when they visit the University of Lynchburg at 7:00 p.m.
