#21 UMW Volleyball Tops Bridgewater, 3-1, to Improve to 10-0, Tying School Record

The 21st ranked University of Mary Washington volleyball team gained a 3-1 victory at Bridgewater College on Wednesday night in Bridgewater. The Eagles improve to 10-0 on the season, and equal the best start in school history with their 10th win to start the season.

The Eagles won the opening set, 25-20, before falling in the second, 25-19. UMW bounced back with 25-19 and 25-14 wins in games three and four for the victory. UMW ties the best start in school history, set back in 1991, when the Eagles finished 37-3 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.

Senior Jordan Lyons led UMW wih 11 kills and 11 digs, while Caitlyn Burch and Emma Hadley each scored nine kills. Lauren Foley scored 21 assists, while Brooke Cunningham scored 12 and Brenna Campbell added 10. Hannah Livermon led with 20 digs, and Bryanna Miller added 10. 

The Eagles will return to action on Saturday when they host Washington and Lee University at 11:00 a.m.
