Peyton Dunow Named CAC Volleyball Player of the Week

Dunow was one of several UMW players that stepped up large this week, as the Eagles defeated three teams ranked in the regional rankings, and two in the top 25. For the week, she recorded 2.92 kills per game with a .298 hitting percentage, and added eight digs and four total blocks. She posted 11 kills, three digs and three blocks in a 3-1 win over No. 25 Johns Hopkins on Saturday in head coach Matt Troy's 200th career win, and followed with a nearly flawless performance on Sunday in a 3-0 win over regionally-ranked Eastern. She posted 18 kills in 21 attempts with no errors for an .810 hitting average, and added a pair of aces and four digs. She was named to the all-tournament team at Juniata.

Katie Piper | Christopher Newport | Jr. | OH
During CNU's victory over Salisbury on Saturday, Piper contributed a team-high 11 kills while hitting at a .476 clip. That marked her 13th double-digit kill outing of the season and her fifth in the past two weeks. Overall, she finished the week with 14 kills and a .263 hitting percentage.

Cori Smothers | Frostburg State | Jr. | DS
Smothers averaged 6.25 digs per set and added 11 assists last week for the Bobcats. 

Hannah Kraus | St. Mary's | Sr. | MB/RS
Krauss started the week with a career-best 13 kills and .250 hitting percentage at Salisbury before adding 11 kills and two block assists in St. Mary's first conference win since 2016.

Nicole Venturelli | Salisbury | Sr. | OH
Venturelli helped the Sea Gulls to a 1-1 weekend in which she posted back-to-back double digit kill matches. Venturelli totaled a team-best 16 kills against St. Mary's before hitting 11 against No. 22 Christopher Newport, she was the only player to total double-digit kills against the Captains. She averaged 3.86 kills per set for the week while posting a hitting percentage of .303. On the defensive side, Venturelli tallied seven digs and six total blocks, recording three in each match.

Brooke Krebs | York | Sr. | OH
In a 3-0 week for York, Krebs had 32 kills, 18 digs, four blocks and a pair of service aces in nine sets of action. She hit .338 for the week as she averaged 3.56 kills per set.
