UMW Volleyball Drops Two at Wittenberg Invitational on Friday

The University of Mary Washington volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on Friday evening at the Wittenberg Invitational. The Eagles fall to 6-3 on the season. 

Mary Washington opened with a 3-0 to Thomas More College, dropping games 25-16, 25-21, 25-9. Junior Peyton Dunow led the Eagles with six kills against one error in 18 attempts, while freshman Keri Gearhart added five kills with no errors in 12 attempts.

In the nightcap, the Eagles fell in five games, 23-25, 21-25, 25-15, 25-20, 15-10, to Hope College. Freshman Alana Harris led the way with 13 kills against four errors in 24 attempts, while senior Leslie Walters scored 12 kills in 37 attempts. Junior Kendal Hall had 23 assists and 16 digs, while senior Ryan Cho added 12 assists and 31 digs.

Junior Skyler Sisk scored 11 kills in the second match as well. The Eagles will be back in action on Saturday when they face Ithaca and Ohio Northern.
