#12 UMW Volleyball Sweeps St. Mary's in Regular Season Finale; Gains Top Seed in CAC Tournament

The 12th ranked University of Mary Washington volleyball team swept a 3-0 decision at St. Mary's College on Saturday in the regular season finale in a key Capital Athletic Conference matchup. With the win, UMW moves to 26-3 overall and 8-1 in CAC play. Game scores were 25-22, 25-16, 25-22.

Freshman Savannah Powers led the Eagles with 12 kills and seven digs, while freshman Peyton Dunow added 11 kills and eight digs. Sophomore Leslie Walters scored six kills, and junior Rachel Hendricks added four.

Senior Emma Olson had 28 assists, 12 digs, and a pair of kills, and junior Jenna Yost scored 10 digs. Sophomore Ryan Cho added three service aces.

With the Eagles' victory and Christopher Newport's 3-2 win at Marymount, Mary Washington gains the top seed in next week's Capital Athletic Conference Tournament. The Eagles will gain a first round bye on Tuesday and face the winner of the 4-5 seed matchup on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Ron Rosner Arena.
