#17 UMW Volleyball Sweeps Past Frostburg on Friday Night; Moves to 17-1

The 17th ranked University of Mary Washington volleyball team swept a three-game match at Frostburg State University on Friday night to improve to 17-1 on the season, and 2-0 in Capital Athletic Conference action. The start equals the best 18-match start in school history, and extends the Eagles' win streak to 10 matches.

The Eagles took the first game, 25-22, before claiming the second, 25-19, and the third, 25-12. Freshman Savannah Powers led the way with a double double, with 12 kills and 12 digs. Freshman Peyton Dunow scored seven kills, and classmate Skyler Sisk added six.

Senior Emma Olson had five kills, 28 assists, and 11 digs, and junior Jenna Yost led the way with 13 digs. Sisk had three aces and three blocks.

UMW had 41 kills on the night, hitting .236, including a .400 clip in the third game.

Mary Washington will be back in action on Wednesday when they visit Washington & Lee University at 7:00 p.m.
