#22 UMW Volleyball Sweeps Widener, Haverford at Stockton Invitational on Saturday

The 22nd ranked University of Mary Washington volleyball team swept a pair of 3-0 victories over Widener University and Haverford College on Saturday at the Stockton University Invitational in Galloway, N.J. The Eagles improve to 13-1 on the season.

UMW started the day with a 3-0 win over Widener, with game scores of 25-14, 25-13, 25-17. Sophomore Leslie Walters and junior Rachel Hendricks each had 11 kills to lead the Eagles, while freshmen Rachel Voketaitis and Peyton Dunow added eight and seven, respectively.

Freshman Ellie Benning had 18 assists and senior Emma Olson added 16, and junior Jenna Yost scored 12 digs. Freshman Maddie Stroud had four total blocks in the contest.

The Eagles then downed Haverford, 25-22, 25-21, 25-22. Freshman Savannah Powers led the way with 16 kills in 31 attempts with just two errors. Dunow had nine kills and Hendricks seven, while Olson provided 32 assists and 17 digs.

Mary Washingotn will be back in action on Sunday at Stockton, taking on Eastern University and Stockton.
