UMW Volleyball Tops St. Mary's, 3-1, to Improve to 17-6

The University of Mary Washington volleyball team defeated St. Mary's College, 3-1, on Wednesday night in Capital Athletic Conference action at the Anderson Center. The Eagles improve to 17-6 overall, and 4-2 in Capital Athletic Conference play. Game scores were 32-30, 25-16, 20-25, 25-23.

UMW outlasted the Seahawks, 32-30, in the first game, then rolled to a 25-16 win in game two. After the Seahawks took game three, 25-20, the Eagles came back from several late deficits to win the fourth, 25-23.

The Eagles were led by Rachel Henricks' 18 kills against four errors and Emma Murphy's 14 kills against four errors. Emma Olson had nine kills against one error, 41 assists, and 13 digs. Jenna Yost added 12 digs, and Murphy had five block assists, with Hendricks adding four.

The Eagles will be back in action on Saturday when they host Marymount University in a key CAC match at 1 p.m., and will also face Lynchburg College at 5 p.m. for Homecoming at the Anderson Center.
