UMW Volleyball Drops Wednesday Night CAC Match at #4 CNU

The University of Mary Washington volleyball team suffered its second straight Capital Athletic Conference road match on Wednesday night, falling 3-0 at fourth-ranked Christopher Newport University. The Eagles slip to 16-6 overall, and 3-2 in CAC play.

The Captains and Eagles rallied through a close first set, with the home side pulling away late to win, 25-18. CNU dominated the second, 25-14, before taking a 25-21 decision in the third.

Leslie Walters and Rachel Hendricks each had seven kills for the Eagles, while Emma Olson had 16 assists and nine digs. Jenna Yost had 19 digs, while Mallory Hill added three blocks.

The Eagles hit 22 kills against 24 errors, 20 assists, 56 digs, and four service aces.

UMW will be back in action on Wednesday, October 21, when they host St. Mary's College at 7:00 p.m. The first 50 Eagles fans in attendance will receive a free UMW Athletics cel phone holder, and the team will also have its Win 4 Wesley night as well.
