Balanced Attack Leads UMW Volleyball Past York in CAC Action

The University of Mary Washington volleyball team used a balanced attack in downing York College of Pa. on Wednesday night in Capital Athletic Conference action at the Anderson Center. Game scores were 25-15, 25-18, 25-14. The Eagles improve to 16-4 overall, and 3-0 in CAC action.

Offensively, the Eagles hit .262 for the match, with sophomore Rachel Hendricks leading the way with 12 kills, while senior Emma Murphy had nine kills against one error, senior Megan Payne had seven kills against one error, and junior Emma Olson had six kills without an error. Freshman Leslie Walters added seven kills as well.

Olson posted 34 assists and five digs, while sophomore Jenna Yost had 22 digs and four service aces. Payne and Mallory Hill each had three block assists, and Caroline Porco had three aces.

The Eagles will return to action on Saturday when they visit CAC foe Salisbury University at 1:00 p.m.
