UMW Volleyball Splits Pair at Washington & Lee on Saturday

The University of Mary Washington volleyball team used a 3-1 victory from Emory and Henry College before falling in three sets at Washington & Lee University on Saturday in Lexington, Va. The Eagles move to 12-5 on the season.

The Eagles topped Emory & Henry in four sets. Scores were 25-14, 23-25, 26-24, and 25-13. Sophomore Victoria Howell led the Eagles with 18 kills, while Rachel Hendricks added 14. Setters Megan Payne (25) and Jenifer Grove (16) led in assists, while Howell added a team-high seven service aces, and Jenna Yost had 11 digs.

UMW then fell to the Generals in three sets, 25-22, 25-19, 25-17. Hendricks led the Eagles with 10 kills, while Payne added 15 assists. Yost had 10 digs to lead the Eagles.

The Eagles (12-5) will visit Catholic University on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
