New UMW volleyball coach Matt Troy and his staff were recently lauded for a clinic given at King George High School by the King George Journal press.
"On June 17-19, in the King George High School gymnasium, new University of Mary Washington head volleyball coach, Matt Troy and his staff reintroduced college level volleyball to 47 area high school volleyball players, from eight different schools - King George, Colonial Forge, Courtland, Chancellor, Faith Baptist, Fredericksburg Christian, Riverbend and North Stafford.
“Drew Wine came to me about coming here and teaching a
camp,” Troy said. “We were excited to reach out from
the University of Mary Washington, and get that in play.
We’ve been able to teach them some collegiate level skills,
but at the same token, some basic volleyball skills.”
