UMW Volleyball Falls at Salisbury in CAC Semifinals

The University of Mary Washington volleyball team saw its five-match win streak snapped and the successful volleyball coaching career of Dee Conway come to a close with a 3-0 loss at Salisbury University on Friday night in the Capital Athletic Conference semifinals. Set scores were 26-24, 25-16, 25-15.

Sophomore Kayla Crawford led UMW with 10 kills, while junior Kaitlynn Wickersham added eight kills and seven digs. Senior Ellen Smethurst scored seven kills. Freshman Maggie Parrish had 20 assists and Courtney Guengerich had 12 assists. Christine Tran had eight digs as well.

The Eagles close the season with a 12-13 record, and Coach Conway ends her volleyball career with 456 wins in 26 seasons as the winningest coach in the program's history.
