UMW Volleyball Falls to Salisbury in Four Sets at CNU Invite

The University of Mary Washington volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to Capital Athletic Conference foe Salisbury University in a non-conference match on Friday night at the Christopher Newport University Invitational. The Eagles fall to 14-5 on the year. Set scores were 25-18, 25-20, 25-27, 25-23.

For the Eagles senior setter Katie Shiflett (Weyers Cave, Va., Fort Defiance) had 34 assists and 16 digs, Kaitlynn Wickersham (Midlothian, Va., Manchester) had 11 kills and 16 digs, Ellen Smethurst (Charlottesville, Va., Covenant School) had nine kills and five blocks, Karissa Herrick (Colts Neck, N.J., Colts Neck) nine blocks and eight kills, and Emily Shea (Chesapeake, Va., Hickory) added 21 digs.


The Eagles will continue at the event on Saturday against Juniata College and Christopher Newport.
