UMW Volleyball Splits Pair at Cal Lutheran Posada Royale Invitational

The University of Mary Washington volleyball team split a pair of matches at Cal Lutheran University in the Posada Royale Fall Invitational in Thousand Oaks, Cal. The Eagles topped the University of Redlands, 25-12, 25-11, 25-12, before falling to 15th ranked Cal Lutheran, 25-13, 25-16, 25-20.

In the win over Redlands, the Eagles were led by Karissa Herrick's nine kills in 17 attempts with no errors and seven total blocks. Senior Katie Shiflett had 23 assists, five kills, and six digs, while Tola Adebanjo and Kaitlynn Wickersham each added six kills. Smmy Hogue had 14 digs and Christine Tran 12 for UMW.

In the loss to Cal Lutheran, Adebanjo led the way with 11 kills and eight digs, while Shiflett had 22 assists and Tran nine digs.

The Eagles will take on Whittier College and Claremont Mudd Scripps Colleges on Saturday.
