The University of Mary Washington volleyball team swept Hood College in three sets, 25-10, 25-18, 25-20, on Tuesday night in the Capital Athletic Conference finale in Frederick, Md. The Eagles improve to 16-13 on the season, and 5-3 in league play.

The Eagles were led by Ellen Smethurst and Laura Gomez's six kills, Katie Shiflett's 15 assists and Sammy Hogue's 13 assists, and Tola Adebanjo and Christine Tran's 11 digs.

Mary Washington will visit Johns Hopkins University along with Carnegie Mellon University at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
