Mary Washington Women's Tennis Chosen to Finish First in C2C Preseason Rankings

Mary Washington is the top choice to continue its run of league titles in the 2024 Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Women's Tennis Preseason Poll following a vote among the C2C head coaches.  The Eagles garnered 16 points and four first-place votes.

The 2024 spring season opens in mid-February and concludes with the C2C Tennis Championships May 3-5 at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Teams will be seeded based on Massey Ratings and will be finalized the Monday before the tournament.

UMW, the 19-time defending conference champion, enters the spring ranked 27th in the nation in the ITA rankings, and will rely on regionally ranked seniors Amanda Hagino and Hana Kimmey to lead the way. Both Hagino and Kimmey were named all-conference in both singles and doubles last spring and will move up to the top two spots in the lineup for the Eagles this year. Top six returnees Emily Beckner and Riley Smith also return to the fold, which gives second year head coach Alex Covington a veteran presence. UMW also welcomes back senior Alexandra Jaksec and sophomore Madison McCarty, as well as a large group of newcomers, including junior Linda Dimitroff and freshmen Jacey Copeland, Addison Felts, Olivia Geoghegan, and Evie Snyder

The Eagles open regular season play on Feb. 17 in Fredericksburg with a matchup against Washington College (Md.)
