The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the eighth week of the 2021 tennis season. Mary Washington freshman Hana Kimmey earned C2C Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week accolades, while Salisbury senior Patrick MacLean claimed C2C Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week honors.

WOMEN'S TENNIS: Hana Kimmey - Mary Washington

Freshman Hana Kimmey provided a pair of wins, including the clinching point, as Mary Washington remained undefeated against Division III competition by downing Washington and Lee University for the second time this season. She and Olivia Moore scored an 8-2 win at three doubles, and then Kimmey took a 2-6, 6-1, 6-2 decision at five singles for the fifth point in a 6-3 Eagles win. She is tied for the team lead with seven singles wins this season.

MEN'S TENNIS: Patrick MacLean - Salisbury

Salisbury senior Patrick MacLean won a pair of matches in Salisbury's C2C match with Southern Virginia on Friday. MacLean and Stefan Hein earned an 8-5 win in No. 3 doubles over Paul Monson and Benton Drake. MacLean then picked up a 6-4, 6-3 win in No. 3 singles against Tanner Bassett.

LEAGUE HIGHLIGHTS

Salisbury sophomore Elizabeth Christine led Salisbury to a 7-2 win over Southern Virginia on Friday with wins in singles and doubles matches. Christine teamed with Sarah Cooper for an 8-3 win in No. 3 doubles over SVU's Ashley Cannon and Leeanne Aldrich. Christine then rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 sweep in No. 4 singles over Hannah Smith...Moses Hutchison led Mary Washington to an impressive 9-0 win over Washington and Lee University on Saturday. In doubles, he and Andrew Watson fell behind early at one doubles but rallied in a tie breaker, 9-7, to take an 8-7 win that changed the complexion of the match. In singles, Hutchison erupted for a 6-2, 6-2 victory at number one.
