#15 UMW Women’s Tennis Blanks SVU, 5-0, in CAC Semifinals

The fifteenth-ranked University of Mary Washington women's tennis team blanked Southern Virginia University, 5-0, in the CAC semifinals on Wednesday afternoon in Fredericksburg, VA. The Eagles will aim for their 16th straight CAC title on Saturday as they will play CNU. UMW improves to 19-4 overall.

UMW got out to a fast start as the duo of Rachel Summers and Lauren Quinn picked up an 8-1 win at one doubles. Daniella Mirabella and Claire Coleman followed that up with an 8-0 win at two doubles. Sophie Dixon and Olivia Moore closed out three doubles by winning 8-2 to give the Eagles a 3-0 advantage. 

Rachel Cooper put the Eagles up 4-0 as she won at six singles 6-0, 6-0. Mirabella clinched the match at four singles by winning 6-1, 6-0.

UMW will host CNU for the CAC Championship on Saturday at 12 p.m.
