#17 UMW Women’s Tennis Tops #20 Caltech, 5-4, on Friday Evening

The seventeenth-ranked University of Mary Washington women's tennis team topped twentieth-ranked Caltech, 5-4, on Friday evening in Pasadena, CA. The Eagles improve to a perfect 5-0 on the season.

In doubles action, Caltech took one doubles 8-3. Danielle Mirabella and Claire Coleman held down the two spot in doubles and won 8-6, while Olivia Moore and Sophie Dixon won at three doubles 8-5 to give UMW a 2-1 lead.

Caltech took the first three singles matches at the two, four, and five spots to go up 4-2. Rachel Summers then clinched a 6-0, 6-2 win at one singles. Lauren Quinn took the three spot 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 to tie the match at four a piece. Rachel Cooper clinched the match for UMW at the six spot as she won 6-3, 6-3.

UMW ends their spring break trip by going 3-0 and will be back in action on Friday as they will host Skidmore at 12 p.m. in the Blue-Grey Invitational
