#18 UMW Women’s Tennis Defeats TCNJ, 7-2, on Saturday

The eighteenth-ranked University of Mary Washington women's tennis team traveled to TCNJ and defeated them 7-2 on Saturday afternoon in Ewing Township, New Jersey. UMW improves to 16-4 overall.

UMW swept the doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead. Ashley Barrow and Kait Brogan won at one doubles 8-3; Caroline Mosberg and Rachel Summers won at two doubles 8-3; Brittany McBride and Danielle Mirabella won at three doubles 8-4.

In singles action, UMW took four out the six matches to help hold off TCNJ. Summers won at two singles 6-4, 6-2; Mirabella won at four singles 6-4, 6-2; Rachel Cooper won at five singles 2-6, 7-5, 10-7; and Olivia Moore win at six singles 6-0, 6-3. TCNJ took one singles 6-2, 6-4; and two singles 7-5, 7-6 (7-5).

The Eagles will be back in action on Saturday as they will travel to Washington & Lee for their regular season finale at 1 p.m.
