UMW Women's Tennis Team Completes Day Two at St. Joseph's Invitational

The University of Mary Washington women's tennis team competed on day two of the St. Joseph's University Invitational on Saturday in Philadelphia, Pa.

In singles play on Saturday, the Eagles had two players compete in flight one. Caroline Mosberg fell to Althans of Villanova, 6-2, 6-2, and Kait Brogan fell to Bunch of Drexel, 6-3, 6-1. Mosberg fell to Whited of Drexel, 6-1, 6-1, in consols.

In flight two, Danielle Mirabella topped Gill-Reid of St. Josephs, 6-4, 6-7, 10-3, before falling to Ziouti of Drexel, 6-1, 6-2. Hannah Jabusch fell to Burdick of Villanova, 6-2, 6-1, before beating Smith of LaSalle, 7-5, 6-1. Rachel Cooper fell to Rodriguez of Drexel, 6-3, 6-0, and Gomez of St. Josephs, 6-3, 6-0.

In flight three, Addie Hinton fell to Simpson of Drexel, 6-0, 6-2, and Shuren of Delaware, 6-0, 6-0. In flight four, Sara Fioretti fell to Jaskulski of Delaware, 6-2, 6-0, and Sophie Dixon fell to Bajet of Villanova, 6-2, 6-2.

In doubles action from Friday night, Ashley Barrow and Brogan defeated Snyder and Theopil, 8-6, before falling to Hall and Studnicki, 8-4. Mosberg and Rachel Summers fell to Devlin and Nava, 8-4. Mirabella and Moore fell to Gill-Reid and Gomez, 8-1, then beat Mosberg and Summers, 9-8 (6).

In the second flight, Cooper and Fioretti fell to Jaskulski and Whited, 8-3, and Dixon and Hinton fell to Burdick and Krogius, 8-6. Jabusch and Brittany McBride topped Chontos and Vel of St. Josephs, 8-2, before falling to Sabotec and Shuren, 8-2. Cooper and Fioretti then topped Devlin and Hill of St. Josephs, 8-4, and then topped Dixon and Hinton, 8-6.
