Rachel Summers Gains ITA Southeast Regional Singles Title

University of Mary Washington sophomore Rachel Summers won the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Southeast Regional singles championship on Monday at the Battleground, becoming the first UMW player since 2000 to win the bracket.

Summers, the nine seed, defeated Anjali Kashyap of Carnegie Mellon, 7-6 (5), 6-4, in the final. Earlier in the day, she topped Hannah Rosenfield of Carnegie Mellon, 7-5, 6-3.
