Brogan, Diffley Fall in NCAA Doubles First Round to Top Seed from Wesleyan, 6-3, 6-0

The University of Mary Washington duo of junior Kait Brogan and senior Taylor Diffley fell to top seeded Victoria Yu and Eudice Chong of Wesleyan College by a score of 6-3, 6-0, in the first round of the NCAA Division III women's tennis championships on Thursday in Chattanooga, Tenn.

The Eagles stood strong early, jumping out to a 3-2 advantage in the first set. But Wesleyan's duo, both of whom played two singles matches earlier in the day in the singles flight, stormed back to take the next four points to claim the first set, 6-3.

Yu and Chong continued their momentum in the second, sweeping a 6-0 set. Brogan and Diffley conclude the year with a 19-3 record.
