#17 UMW Women's Tennis Falls at #15 Johns Hopkins, 5-4, on Wednesday Afternoon

The 17th ranked University of Mary Washington women's tennis team dropped a 5-4 decision at #15 Johns Hopkins University on Wednesday afternoon in Baltimore, Md. The Eagles slip to 17-5 on the season.

The Blue Jays gained the critical lead in doubles, as they won two of three matches to take the lead to singles play. JHU won at one, but UMW's Ashley Barrow and Rachel Summers won at two, 8-3, to even the team score. Hopkins took the lead with a 9-7 thriller at three doubles.

The Blue Jays gained the first singles point at two, but the Eagles came back with a win at five, as Hannah Jabusch won, 6-3, 7-6. The Eagles tied the team score at 3-3 as Caroline Mosberg won at four, 6-2, 6-2.

Hopkins then won at one and three (in three sets, 6-2, 1-6, 6-3), to claim the team win. UMW's Danielle Mirabella won at six, 6-2, 4-0, ret.

The Eagles will be back ina ction on April 19 when they host a Capital Athletic Conference semifinal against an opponent to be determined.
