The 17th ranked University of Mary Washington women's tennis team defeated Capital Athletic Conference foes York College of Pa. and Penn State Harrisburg on Friday by 9-0 scores at matches played at the Hershey Racquet Club. The Eagles improve to 16-3 overall and 6-0 in CAC action, and run their win streak to 12 straight.
In the win over York, Kait Brogan and Taylor Diffley won at one doubles, 8-4, while Caroline Mosberg and Danielle Mirabella won at two, 8-1. Hannah Jabusch and Addie Hinton won at three, also by an 8-1 count.
In singles, Brogan won at one, 6-2, 6-1, Mosberg won at two, 6-0, 6-0, Rachel Summers won at three, 6-1, 6-0, and Jabusch won at four, 6-3, 6-0. Hinton won at five, 6-0, 6-0, and Brittany McBride won at six, 6-2, 6-0.
In the match against Harrisburg, Mosberg and Mirabella won at one doubles, Sara Fioretti and McBride at two, and Jabusch and Hinton at three, all by 8-0 scores.
Diffley won at one singles, 6-0, 6-0, Summers won at two, 6-0, 6-0, Mirabella at three, 6-1, 6-0, and Hinton at four, 6-0, 6-1. McBride won at five, 6-0, ret., and Fioretti won at six, 6-0, 6-0.
The Eagles will be back in action with a big match on Saturday when they visit 12th ranked Carnegie Mellon University at 2:00 p.m.
