#17 UMW Women's Tennis Tops Frostburg, #11 Washington & Lee on Sunday; Win Streak at 10

The 17th ranked University of Mary Washington women's tennis team ran its win streak to 10 with a 9-0 victory over Frostburg State University and a 5-4 victory over 11th ranked Washington & Lee University on Sunday at the Battleground. The Eagles improve to 14-3 on the season.

In the Frostburg match, Kait Brogan and Taylor Diffley won at one doubles, 8-0, and Sara Fioretti and Brittany McBride won at two, 8-0. Hannah Jabusch and Addie Hinton won at three, 8-1, to complete the sweep and set the stage for singles.

In singles, the Eagles won all six matches by 6-0, 6-0 scores. Diffley won at one, Jabusch won at two, Mirabella won at three, Hinton won at four, McBride won at five, and Fioretti won at six.

The Eagles then faced 11th ranked Washington & Lee, and came away with a big 5-4 victory. The Eagles gained doubles points from Ashley Barrow and Rachel Summers at two, 8-6, and from Caroline Mosberg and Mirabella at three, 8-6.

In singles, UMW gained wins from Jabusch at five, 6-1, 2-6, 7-5, and Mirabella at six, 6-0, 6-4, before Summers won the clincher at four with a 7-6, 6-3 victory.

The Eagles will be back ina ction on Friday when they visit York College and Penn State Harrisburg for a pair of CAC matches.
