#17 UMW Women's Tennis Blanks So. Virginia, TCNJ on Saturday to Improve to 12-3

The 17th ranked University of Mary Washington women's tennis team ran its win streak to eight with a pair of 9-0 victories at the Battleground on Saturday. The Eagles topped Southern Virginia in the morning, and then topped The College of New Jersey in the afternoon.

Against the Knights in a morning Capital Athletic Conference match, the Eagles saw Kait Brogan and Taylor Diffley win at one, 8-1, Caroline Mosberg and Danielle Mirabella win at two, 8-0, and Sara Fioretti and Brittany McBride win at three, 8-2.

In singles, Brogan won at one, 6-0, 6-0, Diffley won at two, 6-0, 6-0, and Rachel Summers win at three, 6-0, 6-0. Hannah Jabusch won at four, 6-1, 6-0, Addie Hinton won at five, 7-5, 6-0, and McBride won at six, 6-0, 6-1.

In the win over TCNJ, Brogan and Diffley won at one, 8-3, Ashley Barrow and Summers won at two, 8-3, and Mosberg and Mirabella won at three, 8-2.

In singles, Brogan won at one, 6-4, 6-3; Diffley won at two, 4-6, 7-5, 10-5. Mosberg won at three, 7-6 (4), 6-0, Summers won at four, 6-4, 6-2, Jabusch won at five, 6-4, 6-3, and Mirabella won at six, 6-4, 6-2.

The Eagles will be back in action on Sunday when they host Frostburg State at 10 am and Washington & Lee University at 2 p.m.
