The 15th ranked University of Mary Washington women's tennis team swept a 9-0 decision at 40th ranked Cal Lutheran University on Thursday night in California to improve to 5-3 on the season.
The Eagles moved ahead in doubles, with Kait Brogan and Taylor Diffley winning at one, 8-2, Ashley Barrow and Rachel Summers winning at two, 8-6, and Caroline Mosberg and Sara Fioretti winning at three, 8-1.
In singles, Brogan won at one, 6-2, 6-1; Diffley won at two, 4-6, 7-5, 12-10; Mosberg won at three, 6-3, 6-0; Summers won at four, 7-5, 6-1; Hannah Jabusch won at five, 6-2, 6-2, and Danielle Mirabella won at six, 6-0, 6-0.
The Eagles will be back in action on Saturday when they visit Redlands at 10 a.m. Pacific time.
