#15 UMW Women's Tennis Falls to #1 Emory on Friday at ITA Indoor Nationals

The 15th ranked University of Mary Washington women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to top-ranked Emory University at the ITA Indoor Nationals in Murfreesboro, Tenn. on Friday night. The Eagles slip to 4-1 on the season.

UMW put up a battle in doubles action, but Emory emerged in each match. Kait Brogan and Taylor Diffley fell at one, 8-5; Caroline Mosberg and Ashley Barrow fell, 8-6, at two; and Rachel Summers and Danielle Mirabella fell at three, 8-4.

The Eagles dropped all six singles matches in two sets. Brogan lost at one, 6-1, 6-1; Diffley fell at two, 6-1, 6-0; Mosberg dropped a 6-3, 7-6 match at three; Summers lost at four, 6-0, 6-0; Hannah Jabusch lost at five, 6-3, 6-3; and Mirabella lost at six, 6-3, 7-5.

UMW will take on Carnegie Mellon on Saturday in the consolation round.
