#15 UMW Women's Tennis Blanks Salisbury, 9-0, in CAC Opener on Sunday

The 15th ranked University of Mary Washington women's tennis team swept Salisbury University, 9-0, on Sunday morning at the Battleground. UMW improves to 4-0 overall and 1-0 in Capital Athletic Conference action.

The Eagles started with three wins in doubles. Sara Fioretti and Rachel Summers won at three, 8-2, and Ashley Barrow and Caroline Mosberg followed with an 8-3 win at two. Kait Brogan and Taylor Diffley completed the sweep with an 8-1 win at one.

In singles action, Hannah Jabusch opened with a win at five, 6-2, 6-1, and Danielle Mirabella won at six for the clincher, 6-2, 6-0. Summers won at four, 6-2, 6-0, Brogan won at one, 6-1, 6-1; Mosberg won at three, 6-1, 6-3, and Diffley won in a third set tiebreaker, 6-2, 1-6, 10-8.

The Eagles will be back in action on March 3 at the ITA Indoor Nationals in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
