#18 UMW Women's Tennis Falls to #11 Carnegie Mellon, 5-4, on Sunday

#18 University of Mary Washington women's tennis team fell to #11 Carnegie Mellon, 5-4, on Sunday afternoon at the Battleground. The Eagles fall to 16-4 on the season.

UMW took one out of three doubles matches, with senior Shelby Harris and sophomore Kait Brogan winning at the one, 8-5, over Cori Sidell and Minami Makino.

In singles, Harris picked up the win at the three, 2-6, 6-3, 6-1. Taylor Diffley won at the four, 7-5, 6-3, and Mackenzie Smith won at the five, 4-6, 6-4, 10-2.

UMW fell short at 5-4, while dropping some tight matches in doubles and singles.

The Eagles are back in action on Saturday at 1:00pm as they host #12 Johns Hopkins.
