#18 UMW Women's Tennis Sweeps Bates, Penn State-Harrisburg to Improve to 9-2

The University of Mary Washington women's tennis team swept a pair of 9-0 decisions at the Indoor Tennis Center on Saturday evening. The team improves to 9-2 on the season.

The Eagles started with a 9-0 win over Bates. Shelby Harris and Kait Brogan won at one doubles, 8-5, Taylor Diffley and Mackenzie Smith at two, 8-1, and Sara Fioretti and Caroline Mosberg at three, 8-1.

In singles, Brogan won at one, 6-2, 6-4; Mosberg won at two, 6-2, 7-6; Diffley won at three, 4-6, 6-1, 10-5; and Chrissy Gaul won at four, 6-0, 6-2. Smith won at five, 6-1, 6-1, and Mirabella won at six, 7-6, 6-1.

Against Harrisburg, Diffley won at one, 6-0, 6-0; Smith won at two, 6-0, 6-0, and Mirabella won at three, 6-0, 6-0. Hannah Jabusch won at four, 8-0; Ashley Price won at five, 8-0, and Brittany McBride won at six, 8-0.

In doubles, Fioretti and Mosberg won at one, 8-0; Gaul and Suyama won at at two, 8-0, and Jabusch and Mirabella won at three, 8-0. 

The Eagles will close the weekend by facing Case Western Reserve at noon on Sunday.
