The 20th ranked University of Mary Washington women's tennis team defeated St. Mary's College, 9-0, on Wednesday in the Capital Athletic Conference semifnal round at the Battleground. The Eagles improve to 15-7, and will host Christopher Newport University in the CAC Championship on Sunday.

The Eagles breezed to 8-1 wins at one and two doubles, and overcame a slow start to win at three, 8-4. UMW then won all six singles flights in straight sets.

Mary Washington will advance to the CAC Championship on Sunday against Christopher Newport University, who topped Salisbury in the other semifinal. Match time has yet to be announced.
