The University of Mary Washington women's tennis team defeated St. Mary's College, 8-1, on Wednesday night in Capital Athletic Conference action at the Ed Hegmann Tennis Complex. The Eagles improve to 14-6 on the season, and 7-0 in league play.
The Eagles cruised through doubles, play, as Shelby Harris and Kait Brogan won at one, Alina Suyama and Chrissy Gaul won at two, and Alex Ritter and Michaela Dowd won at three, all by 8-1 scores.
In singles, Shelby Harris won at one, 6-1, 6-2; Chrissy Gaul won at three, 6-0, 6-0; Brogan won at four, 6-0, 6-1; Mackenzie Smith won at five, 6-0, 6-0; and Hannah Jabusch won at six, 6-1, 6-0.
The Eagles will visit Johns Hopkins University on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the regular season finale.
