#20 UMW Women's Tennis Tops Salisbury, 9-0, in Wednesday CAC Action

The University of Mary Washington women's tennis team swept a Capital Athletic Conference match from visiting Salisbury University on Wednesday afternoon, 9-0, to improve to 12-6 on the season.

The Eagles won all three doubles matches, with Mackenzie Smith and Caroline Mosberg winning at one, 8-1; Shelby Harris and Alex Ritter winning at two, 8-3; and Chrissy Gaul and Alina Suyama winning at three, 8-5.

The Eagles continued their strong play in singles, as Harris won at one, 6-3, 6-4; Ritter won at two, 6-1, 6-4; Mosberg won at three, 6-1, 6-0; and Chrissy Gaul won at four, 6-1, 6-0. Smith won at five in the clincher, 6-0, 6-0, and Hannah Jabusch won at six, 6-3, 7-6 (4).

 The Eagles are now 12-6 overall, and 5-0 in Capital Athletic Conference play. UMW will visit Christopher Newport University on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
