The University of Mary Washington women's tennis team closed its fall schedule at the U.S. Naval Academy Invitational this weekend in Annapolis, Md.

Shelby Harris advanced to the semis of the B Flight with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Isabella Wagener of Long Island University followed by a 6-2, 7-5 win over Marisa Quevedo of Seton Hall. Harris and Alina Suyama also won their opening round doubles match over Claudia Mackenzie and Katie Porter of Navy By the score of 8-3.

On Friday, three UMW players advanced to the next round in their prospective draws, highlighted by junior Ashley Price defeating Taylor Perz of Georgetown 6-2, 6-4. Junior Chrissy Gaul defeated Mason Thomas of Longwood 3-6, 7-5, 10-2. Also advancing was junior Shelby Harris. No doubles matches were played due to rain.
