Salisbury, Md.-- The #21 Mary Washington women's tennis team picked up a 7-2 win over Salisbury in CAC action on Saturday. The Eagles won two of three doubles, and five of six singles matches to earn the win and move to 12-6, 5-0 CAC on the year.
Lindsay Raulston and Shelby Harris continued their strong doubles season with an 8-2 win at number one. Freshman Ashley Barrow and Alex Ritter also picked up a win at the three spot, 8-2.
Mackenzie Smith started off singles with a win at two singles, 6-2, 6-0. Alex Ritter, Chrissy Gaul and Berri Flood also picked up straight set victories for the Eagles. Ritter was a 6-2, 6-2 winner at three singles, while Gaul won 6-1, 6-0 at the four spot. Flood triumphed at six singles, winning 6-0, 6-0. Paige Weinberg picked up the final point for the Eagles, winning in three sets at the five spot. Paige won 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 to give the Eagles a 7-2 victory.
The Eagles are back in action on Sunday, April 13th, when they travel to St. Mary's (Md.). The match with the Seahawks is set to begin at 4:30 p.m.
