UMW Women's Tennis Competes at Old Dominion Invite

The University of Mary Washington women's tennis team competed against primiarily NCAA Division I opponents at the Old Dominion University Invitational over the weekend.

In singles play, highlights included junior Courtney Goimarac scoring a pair of victories, over Nekesa Thomas (6-1, 6-2) and over Megan Douglas (7-5, 6-1). Freshman Cassie Bowman earned wins over Lindsay Olsen (6-0, 6-1) and Liz Spelman (6-2, 6-0). Katie Schafer, Casey Malcolm, and Danielle Velardi all picked up singles wins as well.

UMW will return to action on February 14, 2010 at home against Towson University.
