UMW's Wichlin, Goimarac, and Cash Named CAC Athletes of the Week
YORK, Pa. -- Mary Washington freshman SAM WICHLIN (Ellicott City, Md./Ellicott City), Mary Washington junior COURTNEY GOIMARAC (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson), and Mary Washington senior MATT CASH (Fredericksburg, Va./Stafford) were among those selected as the CAC Athletes of the Week for April 13, 2010.

MEN’S TENNIS
Mary Washington freshman SAM WICHLIN (Ellicott City, Md./Ellicott City) was named the CAC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week after posting a 4-0 record at No. 1 singles, including a straight-sets victory in UMW’s 7-2 victory over 14th-ranked Salisbury, two other CAC triumphs and a three-set win at perennial powerhouse Swarthmore. Wichlin also helped the Eagles clinch the top seed in the CAC playoffs with a shutout victory at \#3 doubles against Hood.

WOMEN’S TENNIS
Mary Washington junior COURTNEY GOIMARAC (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) was named the CAC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week after going undefeated at the No. 1 position and leading the 16th-ranked Eagles to four wins. In addition to her singles victory in UMW’s win over CAC rival Salisbury, she won singles and doubles matches against St. Mary’s and Muhlenberg, helping coach Patrick Catullo register his 100th victory in Fredericksburg, Va.

MEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Mary Washington senior MATT CASH (Fredericksburg, Va./Stafford) was named the CAC Men’s Track & Field Athlete of the Week after cruising to a victory in the 800-meter run at the Messiah Invitational Saturday, setting a new school record with an NCAA Championship provisional qualifying time of 1:51.79.
