UMW Women's Swimming Picks Up Plethora of NJAC Awards

In addition to winning the inaugural NJAC Swimming and Diving Championship, the Mary Washington women's swim team took home a number of awards from the conference, the NJAC announced on Wednesday.

The Eagles picked up: the NJAC's Swimmer of the Year (Kinsey Brooks), Co-Coaching Staff of the Year, seven First Team placements, four Second Team awards, and a pair of Honorable Mentions.

Kinsey Brooks was named the NJAC Swimmer of the Year after placing first in five events -- the 100 breaststroke, 200 IM, 200 free relay, 200 medley relay and the 400 medley relay -- and second in the 200-yard breaststroke, in addition to her three All-American finishes at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships two weeks ago.

The Eagles also earned Co-Coaching Staff of the Year as head coach Justin Anderson guided the Eagles to his fifth-straight women's conference championship while Ryan Sullivan and Grace Gartman assisted in the Eagles' winning efforts
